Gaia Refinery was named from the belief that mother earth (aka Gaia) is made up of living and nonliving components. Gaia is in balance when these components work together, functioning as a single system to regulate conditions suitable for life. We are at a point in time where humankind can act on behalf of mother earth to help ‘refine’ the balance. We can act as a Refinery, on nature’s behalf, to remove harmful elements via an industrial installation, and strive for balance once more.
Incorporated in 2020, we have been hard at work to push our ideas into workable and deployable technologies. We have developed Gaia Refinery on principles of honesty and restoration.

Dr. Qinhong (Tammy) Cai
Founder | CTO
Dr. Qinhong (Tammy) Cai is Founder and Chief Technology Officer of the company.
Dr. Cai has her Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering and has been awarded a number of academic achievements, including the Governor Generalʼs Gold Medal Award.
She has 14 years of experience working with environmental engineering and biorefinery processes.
Genny Shaw

Ms. Genny Shaw is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the company.
Genny has a multi-disciplinary background in both business and science industries. She holds a MBA, a MHA and a BSc -Science & Business degree. She is a serial entrepreneur who has run several businesses before joining Gaia Refinery.
She specializes in business strategy and operational optimization.
